Sprawling across 2,054 square miles of land, Miami, Florida is a huge and cosmopolitan city. Greater Miami's list of attractions is long and varied, the city really does have something for everyone! Biscayne Boulevard is a prime spot for shopping. It features the Bayside Marketplace, a shopping experience in the Tropical style. A trip into Everglades National Park is a unique sightseeing experience. Multiple boardwalks lead out over the watery area and signs and displays identify and describe the flora and fauna that you may encounter. At Flamingo there are sightseeing boat trips, and naturalists who conduct nature walks along the shore.
World-famous South Beach, located on the southernmost part of Miami Beach, attracts a colorful mix of visitors to its Art Deco surroundings. Celebrities, artists, and International supermodels have all been found to frequent the trendy boutiques, restaurants and art galleries which make up South Beach.

Getting There & Around
Miami is served by two main airports: Miami International Airport (MIA), about 19km (12mi) west of downtown, and the Fort Lauderdale / Hollywood International Airport (FLL), about 48km (30mi) north of the city.

MIA is a great airport and there are plenty of rental car agencies, shuttle buses and taxis ready to whisk you into Miami. The trip to Miami Beach by bus takes about two hours.
Amtrak trains connect Miami with cities all over continental US and Canada.
Greyhound Bus has three main terminals in Miami, which send off and welcome buses to and from Orlando, New Orleans, Atlanta, Washington DC, and New York City. If you're arriving by Greyhound, the station is just north of downtown Miami, on the waterfront.
Metro-Dade Transit : Metro trains run on a single line between the northern suburbs and south Miami. Some key stops are Government Center, Coconut Grove, and the University of Miami. Downtown Miami is also circled by the Metromover, a monorail that gives a good view of the city and provides some basic transportation. Metrobuses cover the entire city.
The easiest way to get around is by either personal or rental car. Rental cars are available throughout the city as well as at the airport. Keep an eye out for signs marked with an orange sun on a blue background. They are designed to assist visitors on the most useful routes to the city’s main attractions.

Viscaya Museum And Gardens
This Italian style renaissance villa built in 1916 was once the winter home for the famous American Industrialist James Deering. During his life Deering used this beautiful house as a sort of collection point for the many amazing artefacts that he accumulated during his travels.
Little Havana
This fascinating area of Cuban immigrants is the home to many shops, markets and restaurants.
Miami Metro Zoo
This large open plan zoo, supports a large range of animals from all over the globe most of which are in large out door enclosures. The centrepieces of the zoo have to be the rare white Bengal Tigers and the Silver back Mountain Gorillas.
Miami Museum of Science and Space Transit Planetarium
South Florida's largest natural history collection is combined with interactive astronomical exhibits.
Bayside Marketplace
Large waterfront shopping, entertainment and dining area.
Art Deco District Welcome Center
This center is the best place to find out about all of the fabulous Art Deco buildings in the area. They offer guided tours, and independent audio tape walking tours, as well as a gift shop.
The Art Deco Historic District
One of the largest collections of well preserved architecture from the art deco period anywhere in the world. It is also the largest area on the (U.S.) National register of Historic Places.
Spanish Monastery
This ancient building was constructed around 1141 in Segovia, Spain. It was purchased by the famous American William Randolph Hearst who had it dismantled, boxed up and shipped to Florida.
Parrot Jungle Island
Island park located off the coast of Miami offers lavish tropical gardens and a variety of exotic animals from all over the world.
