Chill-out spot: Stop and smell the roses, literally, just a few blocks from downtown at Stanley Park. In this 1,000-acre wilderness area, you can walk the 14-mile seawall, marvel at the Pacific Northwest totem poles, and check out the aquarium.
See it to believe it: Spanning 450 feet, 230 feet above a river canyon, the Capilano Bridge is the world’s longest pedestrian suspension bridge. If you’re feeling especially dare-devilish, the Treetops Adventure is for you–650 feet of bridge connecting eight Douglas Fir trees.
Take a hike! One of Vancouver’s popular hikes (about 15 minutes from downtown) is the Grouse Grind, a challenging 1.8-mile hike up the face of Grouse Mountain gaining 2,800 feet elevation.
Get out of Dodge: While Granville Island is a peninsula in the middle of the city, it feels like a far-off escape. Take the rainbow-colored AquaBus to explore the Public Market, boutiques, and eateries.
Break the bank dinner: Wine lovers and foodies will enjoy Brix Restaurant and Wine Bar in warehouse-chic Yaletown. Dine outside on the patio or inside under exposed beams and bricks. The AAA-Alberta beef steak with yam frites is a house specialty. Book Now
